Frequently asked questions
How do I solve a MathDoku (KenKen) puzzle?▾
Fill each row and column with the numbers 1 to N (where N is the grid size) with no repeats — just like Sudoku. The grid is divided into outlined groups called cages, and each cage shows a target number and an operation (+, −, ×, or ÷). The values you place in a cage must combine using that operation to equal the target. Single-cell cages simply contain the number shown. Every puzzle has exactly one solution reachable by pure logic — no guessing.
How do the six difficulty tiers work?▾
MathDoku — Number Logic has 180 hand-curated, uniquely-solvable puzzles across six tiers: Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert, Master, and Grandmaster. Grid sizes scale from 4×4 up to 9×9. Earn stars and best times on each level, and clear levels to unlock the next world as your skills grow.
What is the Daily Challenge and how do streaks work?▾
The Daily Challenge is a free puzzle that's the same for every player worldwide each calendar day. Completing it grows your streak the longer you keep showing up. If you miss a day your streak resets, but you can start a new one anytime. Your streak and stats are stored on your device.
How do hints work?▾
When you're stuck, a hint points you to the next logical move rather than revealing the answer, so you keep building real deduction skills. If hints aren't appearing, make sure you've started a puzzle, then try closing and reopening the app.
My progress, streak, or stats disappeared. What can I do?▾
All progress, streaks, and statistics are stored locally on your device — no account is required. Progress can be lost if the app is deleted and reinstalled, or if you switch to a new device, because there is no cloud account to restore from. To keep your data, avoid deleting the app. If your data vanished without reinstalling, email us at support@brainrash.com with your device model and iOS version and we'll help investigate.
Game Center leaderboards or achievements aren't updating.▾
Best times sync to Game Center leaderboards per tier, and achievements unlock for wins, clean (no-hint) solves, three-star results, and streak milestones. If they aren't updating, open Settings > Game Center on your device and confirm you're signed in, then make sure Game Center is enabled. A stable internet connection is required to submit scores. Reopen the app after signing in, and contact support@brainrash.com if problems persist.
Does the app work offline, and does it show ads?▾
Yes. MathDoku — Number Logic is fully offline: no account, no network, and no ads are required to play. The only feature that needs a connection is submitting scores to Game Center leaderboards.
What themes, languages, and accessibility features are supported?▾
Choose from five themes — Parchment, Midnight, Meadow, Orchid, and Sunset — and toggle sound and haptics in Settings. The app includes a color-blind palette, full VoiceOver labels, Dynamic Type, and a right-to-left layout for Arabic, and is localized in 11 languages. If you hit an accessibility issue, email support@brainrash.com and we'll address it.
Which devices are supported, and how do I report a bug?▾
MathDoku — Number Logic supports iPhone and iPad running iOS 16.0 or later. To report a bug or request a feature, email support@brainrash.com with the subject line "MathDoku" and include your device model, iOS version, and a description (screenshots help).
